La Chataigneraie can offer a truly unique and magnificent setting for a large group holiday or family gathering.
Each gite / apartment is completely independent giving you space and privacy, but you can book the whole property on an “Exclusive Use” basis. We can offer you choices of places to relax, eat and socialise as a big group. We have terraces, patios, gardens, a shady poolside gazebo and a huge central lounge or “grand salon” where families and groups can be together.
Whether you are a big extended family wanting to celebrate a special occassion, a special interest club, or a leader looking for somewhere to host a retreat, training week or corporate team-building event, we are happy to work with you to ensure that your holiday is a success.

We can offer you:
- Quality, flexible accommodation, including 13 bedrooms – most with en-suite facilities
- A large central kitchen with 2 ovens, 2 hobs, 2 fridges, equipped for up to 30 (plus 3 smaller, fully-equipped kitchens)
- A “Chef à Domicile” who will prepare delicious, reasonably priced, restaurant-quality meals and celebratory cakes, complete with waiter service ….and even do the clearing away afterwards! Standard or bespoke menus. Special dietary requirements no problem (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free etc)
- A delivery each morning from the local boulanger with still-warm baguettes and croissants for breakfast
- A “grand salon” with comfortable leather sofas and cosy log-burner

Multi-generation family gatherings and groups of friends:
We have welcomed 4-generation of families, reunions of university friends and groups of families whose children have grown up together since anti-natal days. Our flexible accommodation enables you to spend time together whilst also giving individual families some space and privacy.
Retreats, sports clubs and special interest groups:
We can provide the perfect base for a hiking or mountaineering club with spectacular walks and climbs all around. The peace and tranquility of the Rotja Valley provide an ideal setting for a yoga or religious retreat. Push back the sofas for a large indoor space for yoga or setting up easels for a painting workshop. Or enjoy working out in the gardens with a gorgeous and inspirational mountain backdrop. Ideal for yoga, painting, bird-watching, cycling, triathlon training – whatever your passion, we are happy to discuss the opportunities we can offer!
We can put together a flexible package to include catering, self-catering, B&B, packed lunches and bistrot meals.
Corporate events:
La Chataigneraie can work extremely well for corporate team-building events or management workshops away from the confines of the office. We can offer 10 individual bedrooms with ensuite facilities, plus a further 3 rooms with shared facilities. (8 double rooms, 4 twin rooms and 1 single/bunk-bed room.)
The grand salon works well as a central meeting room, with screen and projector for PowerPoint presentations, films or analysis of videos of the day’s activities – anything on a laptop with an HDMI port can be screened.
There are a further 5 rooms with tables and chairs for smaller break-out/syndicate rooms.
A huge range of team-building-type activities nearby: year-round hot-water canyoning, river rafting, via ferrata, gorge walks, horse-riding, wine tours and plenty of cultural and historical sites to visit.
